File Note: Kindly peruse the note dated 15/07/2024 of AEE. As per note of AEE, the industry was visited on 01/07/2024, during the visit an iron sludge sample was collected from Filter Press-I and sent to M/s Sophisticated Industrial Material Analytical Labs Pvt Ltd., C-3/7, Mayapuri Industrial Area, Phase-II, New Delhi for TCLP testing. The analysis report was received via email on 06/07/2024, indicating that all parameters of the TCLP test are within the limit and that the sample is non-hazardous. Additionally, a slag sample was collected from M/s R.P. Multimetals Pvt. Ltd., Village Jalalpur, and sent to the same lab for TCLP testing. According to the analysis report, all parameters of the TCLP test are within the limit, and the sample is also non-hazardous. As such, it is clear that the industry is complying with the decisions of the personal hearing dated 27/03/2024. In view of the facts mentioned above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed upto 31/03/2028 with suitable conditions and special conditions as under: 1. The industry shall comply with the conditions of the Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority (PWRDA). 2. The industry shall promote use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic, through their Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activities. 3. The industry shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises. 4. The industry shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. 5. The industry shall comply with the SOPs framed for such type of units.
