It is intimated that the industry is a small scale green category unit engaged in manufacturing of industrial packaging bags by using fresh granules (LDPE & PP) as raw material. Earlier a complaint was received regarding non-compliance of Plastic rules by plastic units of Jalandhar. The industry was given personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board on 07.12.2023 wherein the industry was imposed Environmental Compensation amounting of Rs. 1,77,500/- due to violation made under provisions Plastic Waste Management Rules 2016. (Mainly for not obtain EPR under Plastic Waste Management rules).
Further the CPCB has made online portal for EPR registration and has extended time to industries to apply EPR upto 30.5.2024. Considering the request, the industry and time period given by CPCB. The EC imposed during hearing on 07.12.2023 amounting of Rs. 1,77,500/-was waived off by SEE(PWM) vide letter No. 3220 dated 16.07.2024.
Now the CTOS is mandatory for EPR registration. The industry is complying with the Air Act 1981 and Water Act 1974. May if approved
consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.12.2024 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and with special condition that:-
1. The industry shall obtain EPR registration within 07 day.
2. The industry will not manufacture any activity related to plastic carry bags/ Single use plastic items.
