The report and recommendation of the AEE/EE Ro be perused. Earlier, a complaint was received on 16.04.2024 regarding establishment of new unit and noise pollution created in the surrounding area with the operation of hammers.
The unit was visited by officers of the Board on 26.06.2024 and observed that the industry was in operation during the time of visit. The industry has installed 02 nos. of hammers out of which one was in operation and other was not in operation. The noise monitoring of the industry was also carried out and the noise level of the industry is beyond the prescribed noise levels. Further the industry has not obtained Consent to operate of the Board.The matter was considered by the Competent Authority and it was decided that the directions be issued to industry for sealing of its hammers.
In compliance of the directions issued by Competent Authority the two power presses each capacity 1.25 TPH were sealed in the presence of representative of the industry Sh. Manish Gupta on 05/07/2024.
Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 with and Air(Prevention and Control of Pollution)Act,1981. The industry has submitted classification of area certificate issued from DTP, Jalandhar vide No. 230 dated 13.02.2024 in which mentioned that the site of the industry falls in General Industrial Zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031.The industry have made necessary arrangements for control of noise and provided acoustic sheets.
Considering the request of the industry may if approved:-
1. Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto for Six Months with usual condition and with special Condition that:-
• The industry shall ensure that the noise level during the operation of industry is within the prescribed limit.
• Regional Office Shall visit the industry, re-monitor Nosie level and and send complete report and recommendation within 15 days.
2. Direction u/s 31-A of Air Act 1981 be issued to the industry for de-sealing the hammers please.
