The subject cited industry was granted NOC for manufacturing of Agriculture Implements vide no. SGR/NOC/99/214 dated 17/12/1999 by using Iron & Steel sheets, Angle Channels. This NOC was valid for one year. Thereafter, the industry has obtained consent to operate of Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, which was valid upto 30.09.2020 under Orange Category.
Now, the industry applied for obtaining consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 under green category as it has closed down its opertions of spray painting and has deposited Rs. 56,000/- R. no. N267211647693836 dated 24/09/2021 (Water ) Rs. 56,000/- R. no. N267211647700359 dated 24/09/2021 (Air )
The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 31.12.2026 after deducting penalty for 4 years. The industry has submitted the copy of partnership deed, land lease agreement, details of the machinery, SSI certificate, electricity bill as commissioning proof and approved building plans from competent person under Factory Act along with the application. The industry has also submitted the compliance report of the conditions of the NOC granted to it.
The industry was visited by Assistant Environmental Engineer of this office on 18.07.2024 and During visit it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in different machining processes like cutting, welding, bending, turning and assembly of different automobile parts.
2. The industry has closed down the operations of painting and no painting was observed at the site.
3. The industry has one D.G set of 70 KVA capacity equipped with canopy and stack of adequate height.
4. No source of trade effluent generation from the process and the industry is discharging its domestic effluent onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank.
5. The industry is complying with the conditions of the NOC granted to it as well as the conditions of Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981.
6. The competency to decide such cases lies with the Environmental Engineer of Regional Office, Sangrur.
In view of the above, if approved, it is, recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.12.2026, with usual conditions and following special conditions:-
1. The industry shall not do spray painting without installing adequate air pollution control device and prior permission of the Board and obtaining prior permission from the Board.
2. The industry shall not engage in any trade effluent generating process without prior permission of the Board.
