The industry is a small scale red category electroplating unit. The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974. The application of the industry has been perused and it has been observed as under:-
1. The industry has been commissioned without obtaining NOC of the Board.
2. The industry has been commissioned on 09.11.2023 and made agreement with CETP operator for lifting of spent acid on 18.01.2024 . The industry is discharging untreated effluent into sewer from 09.11.2023 to 18.01.2024.
3. The industry has not submitted copy of certificate issued by Competent Authority regarding land use pattern of the area being a new unit.
4. The industry has not submitted the record of water consumption and lifting of effluent from 18.01.2024 to 30.06.2024.
5. The industry has not submitted the compliance of condition of NOC in a annotated form. If obtained NOC before commissioning of the unit and not verified by visiting officer.The industry has not intimated pollution control measures provided with Auto black furnace.
In view of the above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry with hearing at ZO level due to reason mentioned at point no. 1, 2, 3 & 4 and RO may be requested to submit reply in view point no. 5, please.
