The industry was visited by the undersigned on 10.07.2024 and found that:
1. The industry has developed the Plantation area of 2 Acres as per Karnal Technology which is adequate to handle the treated effluent discharged from the industry. Further, the industry has also carried out plantation in 3 acres land adjoining to the Karnal Technology area.
2. The industry has not increased any land area for installation of new machinery and the same has been installed in existing premises. The industry has already obtained CLU for industrial purpose vide no. PBIP/CAPA(HUD)/2018/1206 dated 30.08.2018. There is no village phirni/lal lakir/residential area within the 100 mtr of the project site and the expansion of the industry can be regularized.
3. The industry has provided collection tank of capacity 200 KL and the other components of the ETP are also adequate to handle 200 KL of effluent. As such, the industry has adequate capacity to provide 15 days storage for trade effluent against the average effluent generation of 25 KLD.
4. The effluent samples were also collected during visit and results obtained from ZO lab, which is mentioned as below: -

As per analysis results all the parameters are found within the prescribed limits of the Board.
In the view of above, It is therefore recommended that varied 'consent to operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 be granted to industry for one year subject to suitable conditions and additional condition that:
1. The industry shall obtain varied consent to operate whenever, the industry will change its process and will increase production.
2. The industry shall install online continuous monitoring system before increasing the effluent to 50 KLD.
3. The industry shall keep its deodorizer plant in good operational condition, so as to avoid any nuisance in the area due to operation of the rendering plant.
4. The industry shall not discharge any effluent onto land for plantation towards the Sutlej River side plantation area.
5. The industry shall maintain proper record for the consumption of fresh water, operation of ETP and APCDs on regular basis.
6. The industry shall ensure the compliance of provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and/or any other environmental law applicable to him and Rules, Circulars & Directions issued by the Board from time to time.
