File Note: It is submitted that: A. The industry is small scale orange category forging unit as it is engaged in the process of forged steel parts (cycle parts, auto parts etc). B. The industry was granted consent to establish (NOC) under the Water Act, 1974 & under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTE/Fresh/LDH4/2023/24435212 dated 29/12/2023, which is valid upto 28/12/2024 for production of forged steel parts ( cycle parts, auto parts etc) @ 2.5 Metric Tonnes/Day and for discharge of domestic effluent @ 0.9 KLD into sewer and 02 oil fired furnace along with adequate stack height and one electrically operated induction heater along with adequate stack with certain conditions and special condition that the industry shall not operate its unit without obtaining consent to operate of the Board under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. C. Now, the industry applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 under orange category through OCMMS on 16.07.2024 for same production capacity and effluent discharge of last granted NOC at time. D. The industry has deposited consent fee Rs. 16,800/- vide R.No. SBIN524177058179 dated 25.06.2024 under the Water Act, 1974 and Rs. Rs. 16,800/- vide R.No. SBIN524177061005 dated 25.06.2024 under the Air Act, 1981 against gross value of fixed assets Rs. 122.00 Lacs and plant & machinery Rs. 122.00 Lacs as on 30.09.2023, which is adequate upto 30.09.2026. E. The site of industry was visited by the undersigned on 25.07.2024 and it was observed as below: 1. The industry was in operation during the visit. 2. The industry is engaged in the process of forged steel parts (cycle parts, auto parts etc). 3. The industry has installed 02 oil fired furnace along with adequate stack height. 4. The industry has also installed one electrically operated induction heater along with adequate stack. 5. The industry has not installed any wet machines in its premises. 6. There is no generation of trade effluent and only domestic effluent is being discharged into M.C. sewer. 7. The industry has submitted approved building plan from authorized person, Sh. Sukhjinder Singh Saini recognized by Director of Factories, Punjab. 8. The industry is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 NOC granted to it. 9. The site of industry falls in Focal Point, Phase-7, Ludhiana which is designated industrial area and site is suitable. Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2026 with usual conditions and special conditions the industry shall not install any wet machines without the prior permission from the Board. The competency to decide the application lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-2, Ludhiana.
