The industry is a small scale red category unit & engaged in manufacturing of hardware goods involving electroplating process. The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH1/2019/10445797 dated 14.09.2019 valid upto 30.06.2024 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/LDH1/2019/10445212 dated 14.09.2019 valid upto 30.06.2024 for manufacturing of Hardware Goods i.e. door fitting @ 2000 pcs/day only.
• Present case for varied Consent to Operate
1. The industry has now applied for manufacturing of Hardware Goods i.e Door Fitting @ 2000, Powder Coating of Storage Rack @ 6 Nos./day and Powder Coating of Cloth Stand @ 6 Nos./day.
2. The industry has now added 6 No. Power Presses.
3. There is no increase in air or water polluting machinery.
• Present status (as per visit on 26.7.2024)
1. The industry was in operation & engaged in manufacturing of hardware goods involving phosphating process.
2. The industry has made an agreement with CETP operator, for lifting of its trade effluent generated from the process @ 6000 Ltr/month.
3. The industry has installed water meter at fresh water supply leading to process area.
4. The industry is maintaining records for its process i.e. phosphating. The record were verified during the visit and found to be in order.
5. The industry has provided separate storage tank for storage of its untreated trade effluent.
6. The industry has installed one powder coating booth with inbuilt dust collector as APCD. It has installed one DG set of capacity 70 KVA with canopy.
Requirement of EIA and SAC
1. The industry is located in designated industrial Focal Point as per Master Plan, Ludhiana (2031) and does not require Environmental Clearance under EIA notification 2006 as well as SAC clearance under factories act, 1948. The industry is permitted to carry out expansion as per the policy of the Board
In view of the above, it is recommended that the industry may be granted varied 'Consent to Operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 upto 30.6.2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
