It is submitted that stack sample was collected from the port hole of the stack by the Board on 16.10.2023 and as per analysis report SPM is reported as 57 mg/Nm3 against the prescribed standard of 150 Mg/Nm3. As per office order no. 56 dated 24.01.2020, monitoring of orange category industries shall be carried out once in a year. The subject cited industry being a orange category unit will be monitored after 15.10.2024.
Moreover, APCD was in operation during visit and stack was almost clear.
The complaint regarding black smoke was verified by officer of the Board on 13.07.2024 and observed that photographs of black smoke received through whatsapp were the momentarily smoke as the industry had started its operations and same was eliminated within 2-3 minutes. Further, the industry is complying with Environmental laws.
It is therefore recommended that 'consent to operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30/09/2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
