The industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana on 03.07.2024 w.r.t. show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, wherein, it was decided as under:
1. The industry shall operate the APCD regularly & efficiently so as to achieve the prescribed emission standards of the Board.
2. The industry shall provide adequate plantation area for discharge of domestic effluent.
3. The industry shall re-circulate entire cooling water and discharge only domestic effluent onto land for plantation.
4. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office shall verify submissions made by the industry and submit recommendations, accordingly
Accordingly, the industry vide its letter (attached herewith) has submitted the compliance. To check the compliance, the industry was visited on 01.08.2024 and during visit it was observed as under:
1. The industry has installed one wood fired boiler of capacity 1.5 TPH with cyclone as APCD and has installed 1 no. electric operated grinding machine with individual cyclone as APCD and proper stack.
2. There is no generation of trade effluent from the process only domestic effluent @ 0.6 KLD is being discharged onto land for plantation. There was no stagnation in the plantation area and same was properly maintained.
3. Cooling water is being re-circulated.
4. The industry has not installed any additional machinery. It has not constructed any additional building.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 with usual condition as per policy of the Board.
