The industry has submitted a copy of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) executed between the Punjab State Electricity Board and M/s Universal Biomass Energy Pvt. Ltd., dated 02.06.2009. As per the said agreement, the unit operates and maintains a Biomass Fuel–based Thermal Power Project at Village Channu with an aggregate installed capacity of 14.5 MW, and desires to sell the electrical energy generated from its facility to the Board. The Board, in turn, agrees to purchase all such energy offered for sale by the company, subject to the terms and conditions stipulated therein.
Further, as per Clause 12 of the agreement, the duration of the PPA is 30 (thirty) years from the date of commissioning of the project.
