On examination it is observed that above said industry is a small scale orange category unit. • The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 30.09.2024 for manufacturing of valves and cocks @ 1 Metric Tonnes/Day by using Brass ingot/scrap/casting @1.2Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material. • Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 with and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of valves and cocks @ 1000 nos/day by using Brass ingot/scrap/casting @ 8 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material. • The industry has submitted drawing of APCD installed with induction furnace of capacity 1 TPH approved from PSCST, Chandigarh. • The industry has submitted completion certificate APCD installed with induction furnace of capacity 1 TPH issued from PSCST, Chandigarh. • The industry has submitted approved building plan from Competent person under Director of factories Act, Punjab. • The industry has submitted MOA, incorporation certificate, lease deed with the application. • The industry was visited by Board's officer on 16.12.2025 and it was observed that: 1. The industry was in operation and is engaged in the process of manufacturing of pipe fitting. 2. The industry has installed 1 no. induction furnace of capacity 0.300 TPH and 1 no. induction furnace of capacity 1.0 TPH each with separate bag filter house as APCD and adequate stack height and the same was not in operation. 3. The industry has installed 3 no. shot blasting machines with bag house filter as APCD. 4. The industry has installed 3 no. oil fired pit furnace with hood and adequate stack. 5. The industry has installed 2 nos. DG set of capacity 320 KVA and 120 KVA with canopies at site. 6. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only generation of domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. 7. The industry has provided separate room for the storage of hazardous waste generated at site and same observed to be stored in hazardous room provided within the industry, however, the industry is yet to obtain authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. The competency of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar. Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, if approved, varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2030 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board and with additional condition that:- 1. The industry shall submit air emission sample analysis report from the Boards lab within 02 months. 2. The industry shall apply for authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 immediately.3. The industry shall comply with the revised emission standards prescribed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and PPCB, as amended from time to time.
4. The unit shall operate its Air Pollution Control Systems to ensure continuous compliance with the applicable notified standards.
5. The industry shall control fugitive emissions from all material handling, storage, transfer points, charging operations and internal roads. The unit shall ensure that no visible fugitive dust or emissions are released beyond the factory premises.
