The report submitted by the regional office may kindly be perused, on examination, it is briefly submitted that earlier due to violations t hotel was issued directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of
Pollution) Act, 1974 and 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide ZO letter No. 4207 dated 10.10.2024 for closure.The directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 were issued to PSPCL for the disconnection of supply of electricity of the hotel vide letter no. 4203-04 dated 14.10.2024. The reminder was also sent vide this office letter no. 5279 dated 14.10.2024 to PSPCL for disconnection of electricity and The bank guarantee of Rs. 1,00,000/- submitted by the industry is encashed vide this office receipt no. 81/5551 dated 4.10.2024.
Earlier, the hotel was granted upto 30.06.2025 with special condition
that the hotel will submit report of effluent sample analyzed from Board’s Lab within
01 months.After that, the hotel has obtained consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through auto generation module which were valid upto 12.09.2030. Now, the hotel has applied for varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
through OCMMS of the Board. The hotel has submitted the MOA, Lease deed, approved building plan, completion
certificate and manufacturing process with the application.The hotel was visited earlier by Board's officer on 19.11.2025 and it was
observed that:-
1. The hotel is having 48 nos. rooms, Banquet Hall, Coffee Shop bar,
conventional hall.
2. The hotel has installed ETP cum STP for the treatment of its effluent andthe treated effluent is discharged into MC sewer leading to ETP cum STP.During visit, the effluent samples were collected and sent to zonal lab,Jalandhar and the results of the same are within the prescribed limits ofthe Board.
3. The hotel has installed energy meter and water meter with the STP andmaintaining the proper record of the same.
4. The Hotel has installed 3 No D.G sets of capacity 125 KVA, 250 KVA, 125 KVA and all are with canopies.
5. The hotel has made separate room for segregation of waste generated and has installed compost drums for treatment of the same.
6. The hotel is a small-scale orange category unit and competency to decide such case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar.
May if approved, As recommended by EE,RO , it is proposed that:-
1. The consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act,1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through autogeneration module which were valid upto 12.09.2030 be revoked.
2. The electric connection of the industry may also be restored temporarily for six
months after getting approval and concurrence from the Board's competent authority.
3.The consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution)Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be granted for six months as per the Board's policy and with additional conditions as under:-
a.The hotel shall not use of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches / water cups, plates, forks, spoons,straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocal orany other non-biodegradable material in the premises.
b. The hotel shall properly handle, manage and dispose the solid waste
generated and comply with the provisions of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
c. The hotel shall comply with the guidelines prescribed for hotel/marriage palace issued by Board dated 02.02.2021 in true letter and spirit.
