A. It is intimated that the industry is small scale orange category
B. Earlier, the industry was granted renewal consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2019/1149979 dated 28.11.2019, which was valid upto 30.09.2024 for manufacturing of I & MS CASTING OF SMALL COMPONENTS @ 1.2 MTD and for discharge of domestic effluent @ 0.4 onto land for plantation after treatment through septic tank.
C. Thereafter the industry had obtained auto renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTO/Renewal/LDH4/2023/2405504 dated 06/11/2023 valid upto 06/11/2025.
D. Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for manufacturing of I & MS CASTING OF SMALL COMPONENTS @ 1.2 MTD and for discharge of domestic effluent @ 0.4 onto land for plantation after treatment through septic tank.
E. The industry has deposited Rs. 6870.12/- vide R.no. 8823215 dated 16.11.2025 under the Water Act, 1974, which is adequate upto 06.11.2027 against the gross fixed assets of Rs. 29.89 Lacs and plant & machinery of Rs. 10.33 Lacs as per CA certificate dated 14.10.2025.
F. The industry was visited the officer of this office on 23.12.2025 and it was observed as under: -
1. The industry is engaged in casting and was in operation.
2. The industry has installed 01 no. induction furnace of capacity 300 kg/heat with bag filter house as APCD as per completion certificate issued by PSCST vide no. 08 dated 07.04.2021.
3. The industry has provided energy meter with the APCD and maintaining the record of the same.
4. The industry has provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent and is lifted through tankers.
5. The industry has submitted area classification from DTP, Ludhiana as per which the site falls in residential zone as per Master Plan of Ludhiana. Further, the Department of Housing and Urban Development vide its notification no. 08/05/2023-441/2208 dated 06.10.2023 has allowed the existing industries lying in residential zone (within & outside MC) of Master Plan, Ludhiana for further 03 years i.e. from 11.09.2023 to 10.09.2026.
As such, the industry is complying with the provisions of Water Act, 1974.
In view of the above it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 10.09.2026 subject to usual condition and special conditions as under: -
1. The industry shall comply with the notification no. 08/05/2023-441/2208 dated 06.10.2023 of Department of Housing and Urban Development and shift the industry to designated industrial zone as per the provisions of Master Plan of Ludhiana.
