Kindly peruse the note of EE, ZO. On examination of the said note, it is submitted that the industry has applied for renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. During inspection by the officers of the Board, it was observed that the Sewage Treatment Plant was not operational due to an invert level mismatch in the sewer line. The Regional Office was directed to clarify the present mode of disposal of effluent; however, no reply has been received so far.
In view of the above non-compliance and absence of clarification regarding effluent disposal, it is recommended that a Show Cause Notice be issued to the unit, allowing seven days to explain why the renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 should not be refused. The case pertains to a large-scale, Green category unit and falls within the competency of the CEE. |
