The details of the application have been perused, and it has been observed that the same pertains to a Consent to Establish (CTE) application for a greenfield project involving the installation and operation of an Induction Furnace of 12 TPH capacity.
Accordingly, it is informed that the Board has issued Office Memorandum vide no. 450 dated 08.10.2025 regarding adoption and installation of Secondary Emission Fume Extraction System by Induction Furnace units in the State of Punjab. In view of the same, the Regional Office is required to re-examine the feasibility and adequacy of the proposed Air Pollution Control Device (APCD) submitted by the industry and submit specific comments as to whether the same is in conformity with the provisions of the aforesaid Office Memorandum.
Further, the Regional Office shall also verify the existence and availability of the Municipal Corporation (MC) sewer line in the vicinity of the project site for disposal of domestic effluent.
It is further pertinent to mention that, in respect of certain industries falling under the jurisdiction of RO-II, the Board has already directed complete reuse of the treated effluent within the premises and discontinuation of disposal into the MC sewer. In this context, the Regional Office shall also examine the feasibility of reutilization of the entire domestic effluent within the project premises by developing adequate plantation area, wherever possible.
The Regional Office may be requested to comments on the above and submit fresh recommendations accordingly for deciding the application please.
