Earlier, the industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer on 02.07.2025 and after hearing among other decisions it was decided that :- 1. The industry shall ensure that there is no unmetered water supply and the industry shall get its trade effluent lifted to CETP operator regularly. 2. The industry shall maintain the record of water consumption and effluent lifted to CETP operator on dally basis and keep it available in the premises at all the time. 3. The industry shall not discharge any trade effluent into sewer or illegally through any other means.
Thereafter in compliance of hearing decisions, the site of the industry was visited by AEE of this office on 18.09.2025 and it was observed no bye-pass arrangement and no unmetered tap was found in the process, the industry is complying with the hearing decisions, however the industry has added powder coating process without NOC from the Board and also reduced its electroplating production as a part of its products get powder coated instead of electroplating. Accordingly, the industry has reduced its agreement with CETP operator from 25000 Ltr/month to 15000 Ltr/month. Accordingly, detailed report sent to Zonal Office and competent authority has issued show cause notice for revocation/ cancellation of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 to the industry with opportunity of show cause in writing within 07 days.
Now, the industry has applied for varied 'Consent to Operate' under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. As the industry is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as well as hearing decisions. Therefore, may if approved, varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
