The unit has proposed to minimise wastewater generation by adopting a recycling-based approach, wherein RO reject water shall be routed through a second-stage multistage filtration system and recirculated back into the RO unit, thereby improving overall water recovery and reducing fresh water consumption. It has further been stated that the remaining treated wastewater shall be reused for non-consumptive purposes such as toilet flushing, floor/machine washing, cooling towers, and irrigation of non-edible plantation. The proposed approach indicates intent towards water conservation and minimisation of wastewater discharge. __
The feasibility and adequacy of the proposed system shall be subject to verification at the time of commissioning and during operation, the initial scrutiny of the application can be considered complete. |
