It is intimated that the unit is small scale red category unit is located at 57-58 B Industrial Area-A Extension Ludhiana.
Earlier, the industry was operating its unit solely for trading purposes from Dec 2023 and zinc plating process was done by the outsource industry namely M/s Ramous Cycle (India), 91-B, Industrial Area-A Extension, Ludhiana and the above said industry has obtained consents from the Board. The same is valid upto 30.06.2027. Now the industry has purchase machinery for zinc plating(purchase orders attached).
The industry has applied Consent to Operate under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for process of Bright and zinc plating of Cycle Bell and seat on job basis @2160nos/Day
The industry has filed online application, uploaded latest CA certificate, partnership deed, copy of agreement with CETP operator, Invoice of machinery purchase order as proof of commissioning, Registery copy.
The industry has Rs. 32400/- vide no. 430028211 dated 16.12.2025 under Water Act, 1974, Rs. 32400/- vide no. 640817115 dated 16.12.2025 under Air Act, 1981, as per the CA certificate the applicable fee is Rs. 3600 per annum, the industry has deposited consent fee for 9 years. After deducting the penalty fee and previous fee from two years and NOC fee. The adequacy of fee deposited is upto 31.03.2030.
The industry was visited by the officer of this office on 26.12.2025 and observed that:
1. The industry was in operation during the visit engaged in the process of electroplating.
2. The industry started its trial process in the month of August 2025 and thereafter the industry started its whole process in the month of December 2025.
3. The manufacturing process is as under:-
Raw material (wire rod)– Header – Threader – Product wash in drums containing caustic soda – Barrels(where coating held) – dryer - Dispatch.
4. The site of the industry falls under designated area i.e. Industrial Area-A, Ludhiana
5. The industry has installed 3 no. Header machines, 8 nos. threading machines, 05 nos. drums, 2 nos. barrel and 1 dryer.
6. It has made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Ltd., Ludhiana for disposal of its trade effluent @ 5000 ltr/month.
7. The industry has installed collection tank of capacity 10000 liter & during the visit 5000 liter approx.. effluent stored in the collection tank.
8. The industry has provided flow water meter at source of water consumption for electroplating process and the reading during the visit was 6.3 KL. The industry is maintaining record for consumption of fresh water consumption for electroplating process & lifting of effluent to M/s JBR Tech. Total water consumption during August, and December is 3590 litres, 2750 litres respectively and trade effluent lifted in December is 2000 litres respectively. After accounting for the evaporation losses, the record regarding usage of fresh water as well as effluent lifted was perused and found to be in order.
9. Domestic effluent @ 0.2 KLD will be discharged into sewer.
10. There is no source of air pollution except D.G set.
11. The industry has installed 1 DG set of capacity 75 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
12. The industry is complying under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
In view of the above it is recommended that case may be sent to the Competent Authority for consideration of grant of 'Consent to operate under the provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for 31.03.2030 with suitable conditions please.
