The reply of the observation raised are as follows:-
1. The industry has installed 02 electrically operated ring rolling machines, each with a billet heater, and 02 electrically operated upsetters, each with a billet heater. Additionally, an LPG-operated heat treatment furnace has been installed. All of these are compliant with the Board’s fuel policy, as they exclusively use electricity and LPG, which are permitted fuels.
2. The plant and machinery assets of the industry have increased from Rs. 8.65 crore to Rs. 25.11 crore. The machinery details for the current production capacity are enclosed herewith. It is important to note that there has been no change in the pollution load due to the increased machinery. The industry has also submitted an undertaking confirming that they have been operating on a double-shift basis for the past two years, which has contributed to the increase in their production capacity.
3. As per the industry’s operations, it is relevant to mention that the installed machinery does not generate significant process emissions, as the activities primarily involve the heating of materials without any chemical reactions. Therefore, no process emissions requiring a dedicated air pollution control device (APCD) are generated.
4. The industry has submitted a Department of Factories-approved building plan. The built-up area of the industry is approx. 37,000 square feet. Since the industry is engaged in a forging process, it does not fall under the purview of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006.
