Kindly peruse the note of EE, ZO. It is submitted that the subject cited industry is a small scale Red category unit. The industry was earlier inspected by the officers of the Board on 23.04.2025 and was found non compliant with the provisions of the environmental laws. Accordingly, directions under Section 33 A of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 were issued for disconnection of the electricity supply vide this office letter No. 3404–05 dated 09.06.2025.
Subsequently, after compliance of the earlier violations, the industry was granted Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide No. CTOW/Fresh/LDH2/2025/28934324 dated 27.06.2025, valid up to 26.12.2025, and under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide No. CTOA/Fresh/LDH2/2025/28934312 dated 27.06.2025, valid up to 30.06.2028. The electricity connection was also restored temporarily for a period of six months. The industry has deposited Environmental Compensation of Rs. 1.00 lakh vide Receipt No. 15/5611 dated 26.06.2025.
Further, the industry has applied for grant of fresh Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The unit was inspected by the AEE of the Board on 31.12.2025 and was found complying with the applicable provisions. The industry has submitted a building plan prepared by Sh. Rajnish Kumar Singla, approved Architect, duly approved by the Director of Factories, Punjab. The site of the industry falls in an Industrial Zone.
In view of the above, it is recommended that ;
1. Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted for the period up to 30.06.2028.
Competency: Senior Environmental Engineer.
2. Punjab State Power Corporation Limited may be directed to restore the electricity connection of the industry permanently
