File Note: RO has reported that the unit has submitted approval of site by Site Appraisal Committee (SAC) vide letter No. SAC/25/I/1250653/2025 dated 24.11.2025. Agreement for lifting and treatment of spent effluent amounting to 4000 litres per month. The unit has deposited fee, which is adequate for a period of five (05) years. During visit it was observed that :- 1. The unit is engaged in the manufacturing of nuts of various sizes, using steel wire rods as the primary raw material. 2. The entire manufacturing activity is being carried out inside one covered industrial shed, wherein all machines and processes are installed in an organised manner. A separate, demarcated section has been provided within the shed for carrying out the electroplating process. 3. The unit has installed ten (10) cold forging machines for cold forming of wire rods into nuts of different sizes. 4. After forging, the formed nuts are processed through eleven (11) tapping machines for creation of internal threads. 5. The unit has installed four (04) crimping machines for insertion of nylon locking (nyloc) rings in selected nuts. 6. Further, four (04) slotting machines have been installed for manufacturing of slotted nuts, wherever applicable. 7. The nuts are subjected to zinc electroplating through an automatic barrel-type electroplating line consisting of interconnected tanks. 8. Prior to electroplating, acid pickling using hydrochloric acid (HCl) is carried out to remove surface impurities. 9. The electroplating process comprises acid treatment, zinc deposition and passivation, followed by multiple water rinse stages. 10. After electroplating, the nuts are dried using centrifugal dryers followed by a heating oven. 11. Trade effluent generated mainly comprises acidic rinse water, spent pickling solution, zinc-bearing wastewater, dissolved salts, oil & grease traces and suspended solids. 12. The effluent is conveyed through cement concrete pipelines to two underground tanks of 50,000 litres capacity each. 13. The collected effluent is disposed of through authorised lifting .....in view of the above, if approved as recommended by EE RO the consent may be granted under the Air Act, 1981, upto 02.02.2031 with general conditions and the special conditions . 1. No trade effluent shall be discharged on land, into drains, water bodies or rainwater harvesting structures. 2. All trade effluent shall be collected in underground tanks and disposed of only through authorised lifting arrangements as per the agreement submitted. 3. Proper records of trade effluent generation, storage and disposal shall be maintained and produced to the Board as and when required. 4. Any spent chemicals, sludge or residues shall be disposed of through authorised agencies only. 5. The unit shall comply with all SOPs, guidelines and directions issued by PPCB/CPCB for electroplating units, as amended from time to time. Competency:- SEE,Small Red
