It is submitted that: -
1. The site/location plan of the industry is attached with the application form.
2. The air emission samples will be carried out shortly and the application was processed without firstly carrying out air emission sampling to avoid delay in processing of the consent application.
3. The undersigned tried to find the SOPs regarding compliance of operation of APCD of induction furnace as per the Board's policy, however, no such SOPs were found. EE, ZO may be requested to kindly attach the same so that compliance could be reported. However, the industry has installed two induction furnaces of capacities 500 Kg/heat and 300 Kg/heat with common bag filter house as APCD. Both the induction furnaces has moveable hood for emissions from induction furnace which is further connected to the above said bag filter house which is adequate for such type of emissions from induction furnaces. As per the Board’s policy, the side hood suction technology has been recommended for induction furnaces of capacity more than 01 ton/heat.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry with usual conditions and special condition that the industry shall get its air emission sampling carried out from Board’s lab within one month.
