It is submitted that the institute has submitted a request letter vide Ref. No. MIMIT/Estate/26/25 dated 06.01.2026, seeking extension of time for installation of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and exemption from submission of Bank Guarantee.
The institute, being an autonomous body established and promoted by the Government of Punjab, has requested the following relaxations:
1. Extension of deadline for installation of STP:
MIMIT has stated that the estimated cost of the proposed STP is approximately ₹20 lakh, for which no budgetary provision exists in the current financial year 2025–26. As a government-promoted institution, its budget is approved annually by the Finance Committee. Accordingly, the institute has requested an extension of time to make the necessary budgetary provision in the ensuing financial year 2026–27 and has committed to install and commission the STP within one month of budget approval, i.e., by June/July 2026.
2. Exemption from submission of Bank Guarantee:
The institute has further requested exemption from submission of the stipulated ₹5.00 lakh Bank Guarantee, citing its status as a government-promoted institution. It has been submitted that regulatory bodies such as AICTE and IKGPTU do not insist on Bank Guarantees from government institutions. The institute has assured that it has always complied with, and shall continue to comply with, all directions issued by the Board.
