From the proposal submitted, it is not clear as to how the scheme of zero liquid discharge will be adopted by the industry………………………….
Regional Office has reported that the RO reject and RO permeate are being reutilized into the process. If this is the case, then there is no requirement of RO installed by the unit and in principle the entire treated wastewater is utilized into the process, which does not seem to be technically feasible as the continued building of TDS in the wastewater will render the use of treated wastewater into the process useless……………….
Thus there is no doubt the unit discharges its treated wastewater into the sewer……………………..
Thus, the reporting of Regional Office is poor and devoid of sound technical examination…………………
Recommended to issue show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 to the unit, due to above said reasons. RO may be asked to submit its explanation as to why the case has been dealt in a causal way.
