The industry was earlier granted CTO for manufacturing of products i.e. crumb rubber/butyl reclaim / natural reclaim rubber @ 9600 MT/year. In compliance to MoEFCC guidelines dated 22.07.2022, the industry has obtained registration on the waste tyre EPR portal of CPCB as recycler for end product of reclaim rubber with registration certificate number B-29016 / (WT Recycler)/23/WM-III/00958 dated 29.01.2024 for annual waste tyre recycling capacity of 10752 MT/annum. Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate with end product Crumb rubber @ 2600 MT/year and Butyl Reclaim / Natural reclaim rubber @ 7000 MT/year.
It is therefore recommended that varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2030 with special condition that the industry will submit EPR certificate of waste tyre recycler with amended end products of Crumb rubber & reclaim rubber in accordance with the consented production details within one month.
