Kindly peruse the note of EE, ZO. On perusal of the facts mentioned in the said note, it is submitted that during the surprise inspection carried out by the officers of the Board on 15.12.2025, the unit was found in operation and engaged in casting of stainless steel pieces. It was observed that the industry has not provided hoods at each crucible being operated, indicating inadequate control of fugitive emissions, and has installed various shot blasting machines without providing proper APCDs and stacks, thereby violating the provisions of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and applicable consent conditions. Further, the hazardous waste storage room was found unsecured as the door was open during the visit and the industry has not properly maintained the records of hazardous waste generation, storage and disposal, which is non-compliance of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and authorization conditions. It is also pertinent that the industry has not submitted the Bank Guarantee of Rs. 10.00 lacs as directed during the personal hearing dated 27.03.2024 till date, reflecting non-compliance of the directions of the competent authority. Moreover, stack emission monitoring could not be conducted during the visit; therefore, compliance of emissions with prescribed standards could not be verified.
In view of the facts mentioned above, it is recommended that, if approved:
1. Varied Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be refused, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing before the competent authority of the Board.
2. Show Cause Notice for violation of the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be issued to the industry, with an opportunity of personal hearing before the competent authority of the Board, please.
