It is submitted that earlier the brick kiln was granted consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 valid upto 30/09/2019 for manufacturing of Brick & Tiles @ 30,00,000 Number/Year.
The brick kiln was visited by officer of this office on 08/02/2020 and observed that the brick kiln was not converted into Zig-zag technology. Accordingly, directions u/s 31- A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 were issued the by the Board vide letter no. 1791-93 dated 06/07/2020 to the District Food & Supply Controller, Amritsar to suspend the license of the brick kiln with immediate effect. Thereafter, District Food & Supply Controller, Amritsar vide letter no. 6902 dated 29/12/2020 intimated this office that license of the subject cited brick kiln has been suspended.
Now, the brick kiln had been converted into hi-draft brick kiln with zig-zag technology and applied for varied consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 and fresh consent under Water Act, 1974 for manufacturing of Brick & Tiles @ 30,00,000 nos/year, as the brick kiln has converted.
The brick kiln has deposited consent fee adequate up to 30/09/2035 under both Acts.
The brick kiln has also submitted coal register which is duly verified by M/s KAN & Associates, Chartered Accountants, which shows that the Brick Kiln was operated only for one month in April, 2019 till July, 2022. Accordingly, the Brick Kiln has deposited EC of Rs. 25,000/- vide this office R. No. 25/5556 dated 07/01/2026 for operation of its kiln for one month period in April, 2019.
The Brick Kiln has submitted the copy of Design adequacy cum Completion certificate issued by Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh vide no. 372 dated 15/07/2022, mentioning that the subject cited brick kiln has constructed hi-draft brick kiln with zig-zag technology, rectangular in design as per prescribed guidelines. The Brick Kiln has also submitted the copy of dimensional drawing/plan & section of Kiln showing the length of Central Island of brick kiln less than 245 ft.
The subject cited brick kiln was visited by Er Lakhwinder Kumar AEE on 14/01/2026 and observed as under: - 1) The brick kiln was not in operation at the time of visit. 2) The brick kiln has been converted into Induced draft technology with zig-zag settings. 3) The passage around the vessel was stabilized with Brick Bats & Keri etc. 4) The approach road to the Brick Kiln is pre-mix carpeted. 5) The brick kiln has provided adequate stack fitted with induced draft fan. 6) No un-authorized fuel found stored in the premises of the brick kiln at the time of visit. 7) The BKO has planted trees along the boundary of the kiln. However, it was guided to plant more saplings in coming season.
The Brick Kiln is complying with the provisions Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and water Act 1974.
May if approved:-
1. Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the brick kiln for a period up to 30/09/2035 with special conditions mentioned by RO.
2. Directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to District Food & Supply Controller, Amritsar for permanent restoration of license
