It is intimated that the project proponent has applied for consent to establish (NOC) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for the establishment of Poultry farm at Village Mukandpur, Tehsil Banga, Distt. SBS Nagar for production of Broiler @ 8000/day and with bird capacity of 8500 number. The project proponent has submitted project report, site plan, SDM Banga siting distance Letter no. 190/MC2 dated 01.10.2025. The project proponent has submitted that a septic tank has been proposed for the treatment of domestic effluent @ 0.4 KLD with disposal onto land of area 0.125 acres for plantation after septic tank. The project proponent has deposited Rs. 2900/- as CTE fees vide Rt. No. 390810531dated 06.01.2026 against project cost of Rs. 68.66 Lacs. The fee deposited by the project proponent is adequate for one year. Accordingly, the site was visited by Er. Arshpreet Kaur, AEE of this office on 14.01.2025 and observed as under:
1. The site is situated on a katcha rasta leading from village Mukandpur, Tehsil Banga, Distt. SBS Nagar.
2. The Poultry Farm sheds are constructed and no operational activity has been started.
3. As per above reports of siting criteria by SDM Banga, the site is suitable for establishment of the poultry farm.
In view of above, if approved, it is recommended that consent to establish (NOC) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to project proponent for one year for the establishment of Poultry farm for production of Broiler @ 8000/day and with bird capacity of 8500 number with suitable terms and conditions and with special conditions as under:
1. The project proponent shall comply with all the guidelines prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) for Poultry farms. 2. The project proponent shall provide adequate green belt around the periphery of the farm to act as a buffer zone and odour barrier. 3. The project proponent shall ensure that no wastewater shall be discharged outside the farm premises or into any water body/land without treatment. 4. The project proponent shall ensure that adequate measures shall be taken to control odour and fly nuisance by regular cleaning, proper litter management, and use of disinfectants. 5. The project proponent shall obtain the consent to operate before the commissioning of the poultry farm. 6. The project proponent shall not expand capacity or change the process/layout without prior permission of the Board. 7. The project proponent shall display an environmental data board at the entrance showing details of consents, capacity, and validity. (Competency lies with Environmental Engineer as the industry is small scale green category unit)
