Previously, a notice to issue directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as amended in 1987 was issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana on 10.11.2025 in which it is decided that:
1. As assured during the hearing, the industry shall not operate its unit till it provides the APCD with the extruders installed in its premises and till it obtains the consent of the Board under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The industry shall also assure that no air pollution causing machinery/furnace is operated by the unit as per assurance given in the hearing.
2. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall ensure compliance of the decisions as above and process the consent applications of the unit on merit.
During the visit it has been observed that the industry has installed wet scrubber as APCD with its 2 extruders for producing Polystrene Granules.
Therefore the industry is complying with the provisions of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 .
