It is submitted that Show cause notice before refusal of 'consent to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 has been issued to the industry alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer (B) of the Board on 15.01.2026.
Sh. Surinder Kumar & Sh. Rakesh Kumar attended the hearing on behalf of the industry and submitted written reply of show cause notice, which has been taken on record. They stated that plantation has been provided for disposal of domestic effluent and septic tank is under construction. They stated that septic tank will be constructed within 15 days and requested for grant of consent.
After hearing the representatives of the industry and officer of the Board and the materials facts on record, the Senior Environmental Engineer (B) decided as under: -
1. The industry shall ensure that there is no soakage pit at the site and shall complete construction work of septic tank of adequate capacity to treat the domestic effluent being generated inside the premises, within 10 days.
2. The industry shall provide adequate plantation for disposal of domestic effluent, within 10 days.
3. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sri Muktsar Sahib shall visit the industry to verify the compliance at site immediate after stipulated time period and shall submit report with conclusive recommendations to decide the consent applications on merit.
