It is submitted that show cause notice before refusal of 'consent to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 has been issued to the industry alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer (B) of the Board on 15.01.2026.
Sh. Sanji Mittal attended the hearing on behalf of the industry and submitted written reply of show cause notice, which has been taken on record. He submitted that the industry is engaged in manufacturing of T-bolts and has installed 03 addas, 01 khurad, 01 electric operated induction heater, 05 power presses. He further submitted that the industry had started zinc plating 3-4 months ago and the industry was not aware requirement of SAC approval. After receipt of notice, the industry has sold the zinc plating machinery and now zinc plating is carried out from outside agencies. He assured that zinc plating section will not be installed without obtaining SAC /PPCB approval. He requested to give permission to operate other machinery without zinc plating process.
After hearing the representative of the industry and officer of the Board and the materials facts on record, the Senior Environmental Engineer (B) decided as under: -
1. The applications submitted by the industry under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 be returned.
2. The industry shall apply for consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for the remaining process / machinery alongwith requisite documents and consents fee, within 07 days.
3. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Bathinda shall visit the industry after stipulated time period to verify the submission of industry and to process the consent applications to be applied by the industry, on merits.
