File Note: The proposed unit is a small-scale orange category induction furnace unit. The project proponent has applied for Consent to establish (NOC for first time) under the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for production of S.G. Iron/M.S./C. I./S.S./Alloy Steel Casting of Auto/Agricultural Parts/Implements @ 11.4 MTD using S.G. Iron/M.S./C. I./S.S./Alloy Steel Casting of Auto/ Agricultural Parts/Implements @ 11.7 MTD and Ferro Alloys @ 0.8 MTD & Ferro Alloys @ 0.8 MTD. The industry has filled online application form, Brief project report, site plan location plan, manufacturing process flow chart, DTP letter bearing no. 1678 dated 16.06.2025, feasibility report of APCD from PSPCT, Chandigarh. The industry has submitted the fee of Rs. 24500/- vides no. 151465327 dated 02.06.2025 and Rs. 4800/- vide no. 59048866 dated 17.12.2025 as NOC Fee. The adequacy of fee deposited by the industry is one year. The industry was visited by officer of this office on 15.01.2026 and observed as under: 1. The industry has earmarked the boundary of the proposed industry and boundary wall has been constructed. The Industry has constructed main building shed also along with construction of RCC structure for Induction furnace was ongoing. 2. The manufacturing process shall consists of Raw material > Induction furnace > slag and impurities removal > ferro alloys addition > casting in moulds > shot blasting/finishing. 3. The Industry has planned to install following machinery: Induction Furnaces (4 Nos. Crucible of 0.5 T capacity each), High Pressure Moulding Line, Sand Plant including Sand Mixture, Compressor (2 Nos.), Shot Blasting with Dust Collector (2 Nos.) (Tumbler Type-1+ Hanger Type-1), Grinder (10 Nos.), Over Head Crane (2 Nos.), Core Shooter (2 Nos.), Annealing Furnace, Bundle Press (2 Nos.), Cooling Tower, Water Softening Plant, Transformer (2 Nos. of 1200 KVA each), Cables H.T/LT, Heat Exchanger, Earthling, Auxiliary Transformer 600 KVA, Moulds/Dies and Electric Control Panel, CT/PT, VCB. and other misc. assets. 4. The industry has submitted the Feasibility Report for Air Pollution Control Device to be installed with four new Induction Furnaces each having capacity as 500 Kg/heat from PSCST Chandigarh vide no. PSCST/TFD/178 dated 08.12.2025. The industry has been recommended to install two APCDs (Canopy head with elliptical cut for each crucible of the furnace for manual charging & poking of raw material followed by spark arrestor and Pulse jet bag house filters with online technology) i.e. one APCD common with each set (2 Nos.) of Induction Furnaces. 5. The Industry will provide Shot Blasting with inbuilt Dust Collector (2 Nos.) (Tumbler Type-1+ Hanger Type-1). 6. The industry will not generate any trade effluent. 7. The industry has proposed to install septic tank for treatment of domestic wastewater @ 5.5 KLD. The wastewater after septic tank will be discharge onto land for plantation. 8. The industry has proposed to install one D.G set of capacity 125 KVA with adequate stack height and canopy provided. 9. The site is suitable for such types of establishments as per DTP bearing no. 1678 dated 16.06.2025 the site falls under the industrial zone as per Master Plan Ludhiana 2007-31. The plant is proposed to be set up in 5.78 acres and same is on record in DTP letter. 10. At the current production, the industry need not to obtain Environmental Clearance. As per MoEF&CC notification S.O 2215 (E) dated 07.06.2024, for processes involving melting of non-toxic metals using gas fuel or electricity doesn’t require EC till 60,000 TPA. 11. Further, As per OM No. 450 dated 08.10.2025 regarding ‘adoption and installation of secondary emission fume extraction system by the induction furnace units in the state of Punjab’ requires Dog House system for containment of primary and secondary emissions However the current induction furnaces of 05. TPH capacity have been specifically designed by PSCST, Chandigarh with ‘Canopy head’ with elliptical cut for manual charging & poking of raw material followed by spark arrestor and Pulse jet bag house filters with online technology. Considering design of PSCST, Chandigarh, it is recommended that the industry may be granted 'Consent to established' (NOC for first time) under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, up to 30.09.2026 for S.G. Iron/M.S./C. I./S.S./Alloy Steel Casting of Auto/Agricultural Parts/Implements @ 11.4 MTD, from S.G. Iron/M.S./C. I./S.S./Alloy Steel Casting of Auto/ Agricultural Parts/Implements @ 11.7 MTD and Ferro Alloys @ 0.8 MTD with general condition as per policy of the Board and special condition that industry shall provide emission containment system as per PPCB Office Memorandum No. 450 dated 08.10.2025.
