It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 both are valid upto 30/06/2026. Thereafter, the consent to operate granted under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 to the industry was revoked by the Board vide letter no. 5323 dated 19.09.2024 due to some violations. Thereafter, the industry was visited by officer of the Board on 22.07.2025. During the visit, several non-compliances were observed. Accordingly, the industry was given hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on 11.09.2025. Further, the industry was visited by the AEE of the Board on 30.10.2025. During the visit, the washing station has been sealed. Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite documents and with request to de-seal the washing section. Accordingly, the industry was visited by the officer of the Board on 24.12.2025 and found it complying with the environmental laws and was found that the seals were intact and washing section was not in operation. Agency has submitted undertaking regarding 100% reuse of washing water after treatment and has requested for de-sealing of washing section.
In view of above, may if approved:
1. The request of de-sealing of washing section may be considered.
2. Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2026 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and special condition that the agency shall maintain a record of trade effluent treated as well as recycled for washing of vehicles on daily basis and shall submit the same before 5th of every month.
