The industry was issued Show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 dated21.01.2026 , to file reply within 07 days, wherein the industry is required to submit compliance of the following:
1. The industry is required to submit compliance w.r.t notification no. 08/05/2023-441/2208 dated 06.10.2023 of Department of Housing and Urban Development and shift the industry to designated industrial zone as per the provisions of Master Plan of Ludhiana………….
2. The industry is required to obtain authorization under HWM Rules, 2016…………
3. The industry is required to submit compliance w.r.t Board's OM no. 450 dated 08.10.2025 regarding adoption and installation of secondary emission fume extraction system by the induction furnace units in the State of Punjab……………
The industry has not provided any secondary emissions mitigation measures nor has provided any plan to install it in the future…………..
However, the industry has failed to submit the reply of the above SCN till date. In view of above it is recommended that the Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 application may be refused please…………..
