.,........Further, it is respectfully submitted that the Hon’ble NGT, in its orders passed
in OA No. 924 of 2019, has directed shifting/closure of rolling mills and other
industries operating on coal only. The directions issued in the said matter are
specifically applicable to coal-fired units. In the present case, the industry is not using
coal; instead, it is operating on wood pellets, which are bio-based and comparatively
cleaner fuels. Therefore, the directions of the Hon’ble NGT in OA No. 924 of 2019 are
not directly applicable to the present unit. This distinction is further supported by the
stack emission analysis report, wherein the SPM concentration has been found within
the prescribed permissible limits, indicating compliance with emission norms while
using bio-fuel.....
Moreover, as per the prevailing practice being followed in Khanna area, coal and other
alternative fuels are presently not being allowed for industries. However, the same may
be reconsidered by the Competent Authority of the Board, keeping in view
infrastructure availability, policy provisions, and directions of the Hon’ble Tribunal......... |
