.,........Further, it is respectfully submitted that the Hon’ble NGT, in its orders passed in OA
No. 924 of 2019, has directed shifting/closure of rolling mills and other
industries operating on coal only. The directions issued in the said matter are
specifically applicable to coal-fired units.............
In the present case, the subject industry is engaged in aluminium melting and was
earlier using furnace oil, but has now shifted to biomass pellets, which is a cleaner
fuel alternative. Therefore, the directions of the Hon’ble NGT in OA No. 924 of 2019
are not directly applicable to the present unit..................
Furthermore, the industry has submitted that its application has been pending for the
last three months and that repeated submission of applications for obtaining
permission from the Punjab Pollution Control Board is causing undue difficulty. The
industry has also stated that such repeated procedures are not in consonance with
the Government of India’s policy on Ease of Doing Business.
Therefore, the industry has requested that the present application may kindly be considered and accepted with necessary modifications only, so as to avoid any undue hardship to the industry on account of repeated submission of applications.........
