The clarification regarding the requirement/non-requirement of Environmental Clearance (EC) for area development projects with a built-up area (based on FAR) beyond 20,000 sqm is still awaited from the Regional Directorate (MoEF&CC) Chandigarh, despite reminders and persuasion by the Board. In view of this, the SEE's recommendations for grant of Consent to Establish (CTE) may be accepted, subject to the condition that the Project Proponent (PP) be advised that commencement of any construction activity without EC will be entirely at the PP's risk and cost, please
