In view of the above examination, the project falls under Green Category 17.0 as per CPCB categorization and does not attract the provisions of the EIA Notification dated 14.09.2006, as the proposed pipeline does not pass through any protected or eco-sensitive area. The Regional and Zonal Offices have also reported that only an underground pipeline exists within the jurisdiction without installation of any pollution generating facility.
Accordingly, Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the project proponent as proposed, subject to stipulated conditions.
