It is submitted that the industry was issued show cause notice for violations of provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Kapurthala on 20.02.2026. After hearing, the Environmental Engineer decided that the Assistant Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Kapurthala shall visit the industry within two days, verify the contentions and process consent cases on merit.
In compliance of the decision of the personal hearing, the industry was visited by Er. Jaspreet Singh, AEE on 05.03.2026 & observed as under: -
1) The industry was operational during the visit.
2) The industry has provided extruding machines for preparation of industrial packing material from virgin granules.
3) The industry has not installed adequate APCD as a duct with adequate suction and stack height.
4) The industry does not generate any type of trade effluent. The domestic effluent is directly discharged into soakage pits.
In view of the above, it is recommended that: -
1. The applications of consent to operate applied under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be refused.
2. Action u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 for violations be initiated against the unit please.
