It is submitted that the unit ‘Renny Strips Pvt Ltd. (RSPL), Vill. Mangarh, Machiwara Road, Kohara, Ludhiana, Ludhiana East, Ludhiana I-141112’ was granted Environmental Clearance vide SEIAA letter no. SEIAA/MS/2021/4093 dated 11.05.2021 for production of Steel Ingots/Billets @189000 MT/Year and M.S bar/Coil/Flat/Round/Square, TMT, Angles, Channel, Etc @175000 MT/Year and for installation two furnaces of capacity 30 TPH and 15 TPH. There is also one adjoining unit Renny Strips Pvt Ltd. Furnace Division (RSPL FD) alongside the above mentioned unit. RSPL FD obtained EC vide no. SEIAA letter no. DECC/SEIAA/2020/1647 dated 20.05.2020. Thereafter, there was further amendment in EC vide no. EC24B1010PB5467940A dated 15.03.2024. EC vide letter no. EC24B1010PB5467940A dated 15.03.2024 paved way for merger of the two units in the name and style of “M/s Renny Strips Pvt. Ltd.” Now recently, industry has got its EC “EC25B1011PB5653456T”dated 15.03.2024 transferred to “M/s Renny Strips Ltd.” dated 10.11.2025 as the unit has changed its name. It is pertinent to mention that although the industry has obtained EC for the merged unit in the name and style of “M/s Renny Strips Ltd.”, but as observed during the visit of the visiting officer dated 23.02.2026, the actual physical configuration of both the units is as follows: The actual physical merger of the the unit ‘Renny Strips Pvt Ltd. (RSPL) and adjoining unit Renny Strips Pvt Ltd. Furnace Division (RSPL FD) has not taken place. Both units are operating separately. As such they have applied for separate CTO’s . As per the prevalent norms, the industry is bound to apply for NOC of the merged unit, effectuate physical merger of both the units at the actual site and then obtain CTO for merged unit from the Board.
Also the unit is submitting 6 monthly compliance of the EC conditions regularly and same has been verified and attached in the note of earlier AEE dated 23.02.2026 which may kindly be perused. As verified by the visiting officer, the unit has developed around 8000 sq m of plantation area, which needs to be expanded and the green area needs to be developed in consonance to EC granted by competent authority from time to time.
Also the unit is bound to adhere to the timelines for timely installation, completion and commissioning of secondary emissions system as per PPCB OM no. 450 dated 08.10.2025.
Also currently the unit is operating with 30TPH and 7 TPH induction furnaces. As such it is bound to obtain revised EC for the above mentioned furnaces.
