Respected Sir, it is submitted that the site was visited by undersigned on 02.03.2026 and it was observed as under: -
1. During visit the industry was not in operation. As per SOPs framed for such type units , the industry has provided 04 no. settling tanks having size 3 mtr × 9 mtr × 2.5 mtr for treatment of waste water generated from the process and the treated wastewater will be re-used back into the process.. No trade effluent is being generated by the industry, only domestic effluent @1.8KLD will be generated and same will be discharged onto land for plantation after passing through septic tanks.
2. The industry has made the sludge drying platform and has provided natural slope towards settling/sedimentation tanks for treatment/recycling.
3. The industry has installed water meter at the fresh source water pipeline and has also installed water meter at pipeline for reusing the treated waste water back in the process.
4. The industry has provided an impervious shed of size 60’X60’X18' for storage of ETP sludge within its premises. The industry is yet to start procuring ETP sludge and no ETP sludge was found stored during visit.
5. The industry has not installed any boiler/ furnance & D.G set in its premises.
From the above, it is evident that the industry is complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 2016 as well as SOPs framed for such type of units.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the industry may be granted temporary consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 for a period of six months i.e. upto 30/09/2026 with special conditions:-
1. The industry shall obtain the registration-cum-passbook as required under Rules of the Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016 for the utilization of the ETP sludge of pulp & paper industry within this period.
2. The industry shall not use/procure ETP sludge without obtaining the registration-cum-passbook as required under Rules of the Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016 for the utilization of the ETP sludge of pulp & paper industry within this period.
