CTO fee detail: Consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 The industry has applied varied consent under the Air Act, 1981 for the use of both PNG and LSHS as Fuel for its existing furnaces. Raw material Copper Scrap@52 MTD, Emulsion Used In the Process@25 Liter/ Day, Wood Briquettes Used in the Process per 50 MT Batch@1000 Kgs/Day, Glass Used in the Process Per 50 MT Batch@100 Kgs/Day, Isopropyl Alcohol Used in the Process@25 Liter/Day. Products Copper Wire Rod (8-16MM) @ 50MTD Gross block value of fixed assets details Total fixed assets Rs. 959.64 Lakhs as on 14.11.2025 Plant & Machinery= Rs. 737.55 Lakh Fee deposited The industry has already deposited Rs.90,000/- vide Receipt No. 111463169 dated 19/11/2025. Which is adequate up to 30/10/2030 as per fee policy of the Board 2018. Air pollution status The industry has installed 02 no. reverberatory furnace (One Stand by) of capacity 50 MTD each and 02 small pit furnace (One Stand by) of capacity 05 MTD each., using LSHS as fuel. The industry has installed common cyclone followed by wet scrubber as Air Pollution Control device to control the emission generated from the process. It involves the manufacturing process i.e. Raw material Feeding into furnace  Melting  Launder  Tundish continuous casting  Straightening and Shaving De-burring  Hot rolling  Polishing  Coiling  Product ready. Site suitability The industry has submitted the certificate of in principal approval vide application no.2412619937 dated 13/02/2025. The site of the industry falls in industrial land use zone as per notified Master Plan of Mandi Gobindgarh. Under the EIA notification dated 14/09/2006 The industry is not covered under the EIA notification dated 14/09/2006. Under the press note 17 (1984 series) The press Note 17 has been withdrawn by the Govt. Under the schedule of factories act 1948 The industry is not covered under the first schedule of Factories Act, 1948. To verify the contents of application, the industry was visited by AEE of this office along with Mrs. Manveer Kaur, JSO on 16.02.2026. During the visit, it was observed as under: 1. The industry has installed a new unit for manufacturing copper wire by using copper scrap as raw material. 2. The industry was proposed to be installed one rotary furnace and one reverberatory furnace; but the industry has installed only reverberatory furnace and 02 small pit furnace of capacity 01 TPD each, using PNG as fuel. The industry has installed common cyclone followed by wet scrubber as Air Pollution Control device to control the emission generated from the process. 3. It involves the manufacturing process i.e. Raw material Feeding into furnace  Melting  Launder  Tundish continuous casting  Straightening and Shaving  De-burring  Hot rolling  Polishing  Coiling  Product ready. 4. The industry has submitted completion certificate regarding installation of Air Pollution Control Device as per feasibility report submitted during the time of obtaining NOC. 5. The industry has installed 02 No. DG set of 250 KVA and 58.5 KVA with canopy. 6. The rolled product will be polished by passing it through a solution of iso- propyl alcohol (IPA). The IPA tank will have storage capacity of 50 m3. Loss of chemical strength and quantity will be made up by adding fresh oil in water emulsion. The maximum IPA dosage for make will be 15 liters/day and make-up water requirement will be about 1 m3 /day. 7. Cooling water will be re-circulated and domestic effluent will be discharged onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank. The industry has developed green belt about half acre of land area. 8. During visit, air monitoring was carried out and as per analysis report, concentration of Particulate matter was found to be 114 mg/Nm3, which is within prescribed limits. PWRDA Permission: In the subject cited case, the industry has mentioned ground water extraction @ 9.5 KLD. Considering 30 working days per month, ground water extraction will be 285 KL/month, which is less than 300 KL/month. Recommendations: In view of above-mentioned facts, if approved, Zonal Office-2, Patiala may be recommended that consent to Operate under the provision of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for may be granted up to 30/09/2030 for manufacturing of Copper Wire Rod @ 50 MT/Day by using PNG and LSHS as fuel due to non-availability of sufficient quantity of PNG with suitable conditions and with special conditions: 1. The industry shall not generate any trade effluent from its industrial process. 2. The industry shall not consume any fuel except PNG/LSHS in its furnaces.
