It is intimated that the hotel is a large scale orange category unit. It was earlier granted consent to operate under Red category under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2025/28625282 dated 27.06.2025 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2025/28625362 dated 26.06.2025 for the disposal of Trade effluent @ 20.0 KLD Partly into sewer and partly onto land for plantation after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 40 KLD Partly into sewer and partly onto land for plantation after treatment through STP, both valid upto 30.04.2026. Now, the hotel has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Orange category under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for the disposal of trade effluent @ 20.0 KLD partly into sewer and partly onto land for plantation after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 40 KLD Partly into sewer and partly onto land for plantation after treatment through STP.
The hotel has submitted self-declaration regarding change in category from Red to Orange stating that “Earlier, the hotel was using 98% gaseous fuel in its tandoors and 2% wooden coal and use of wooden coal previously was limited to staff cafeteria only, now has been completely discontinued. At present, hotel is operating exclusively on gaseous fuel. In view of transition to cleaner fuel, the hotel now falls under orange category as per the latest CPCB guidelines.”
The hotel has deposited Rs. 3,16,800/- vide R. No. 587938194 dated 11.03.2026 under Water Act, 1974 along with NOC Regularization fee Rs 2900/- and Rs. 3,16,800/- vide R. No. 237129956 dated 11.03.2026 under Air Act, 1981, which are adequate upto 30.04.2029. The hotel was visited by Er. Kushal Sharma, AEE and Er. Aman Kumar, JEE on 25.03.2026 and observed as under:- 1. The hotel has provided 96 no. of rooms inside the premises. 2. The hotel has also constructed marriage party hall in the basement and one kitchen inside the premises. 3. The hotel has constructed kitchen and provided only gas fired and electric bhathies tandoors in the same. No wooden coal based bhathies tandoors are being used in the kitchen. Hoods are provided on all the mouths of bhathies and further connected with the common duct leading to top of roof of the building. 4. The hotel has installed settling tanks followed by oil and grease traps for the treatment of effluent generated from the kitchen. Thereafter the effluent is being discharged into the MC sewer leading to the terminal STP. 5. The hotel has also installed 02 no. of DG sets of capacities 750 KVA each with canopies inside the premises. 6. The hotel has installed a mechanical composter for composting of wet waste.
As observed during visit, the hotel is only using gaseous and electric bhathies tandoors. So, as per the latest CPCB directions regarding harmonization of classification of industrial sectors (order dated 12.02.2025), Serial no. 4.2 – Hotels (above 3 star) or having 100 & above rooms (based on cleaner /gaseous fuel), the hotel is categorized as Orange category industry.
On 29.09.2025, treated trade effluent samples of the industry were collected from both inlet & outlet of the ETP and inlet & outlet of STP. As per analysis report results of ETP outlet various parameters are pH = 7.7, TSS = 32 mg/l, BOD =18 mg/l, Phosphate = BDL and Oil & Grease = BDL and results of STP outlet various parameters are pH = 7.3, TSS = 26 mg/l, Phosphate = 1.42 mg/l, BOD =22 mg/l and Oil & Grease = 4.1 mg/l. As per the results, all the parameters were found within the limits prescribe by the Board.

In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act ,1981 may be granted to the hotel upto 30.04.2029.
