File Note: The above note may kindly be perused……… The industry is a large-scale red category dyeing unit holding valid Consent to Operate under the Air Act, 1981 up to 31.03.2026 and under the Water Act, 1974 up to 31.12.2025 for dyeing of yarn with discharge of 2000 KLD treated effluent into MC sewer through ETP……………Now, the industry has applied for renewal of CTO under the Air Act, 1981 for similar production along with operation of 10 TPH boiler. The consent fee of Rs. 30.60 lakh (cumulative) has been deposited and is adequate up to 31.03.2029………………..The industry was earlier visited by officer of the Board on 26.02.2026 and it has been reported as follows: The industry has installed boiler of 10 TPH capacity equipped with Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) as APCD, with multi-cyclone as standby arrangement; Rice husk was being used as fuel and was found in dry condition….. Further, stack emission monitoring was carried out by the Board on 21.11.2025 and the concentration of particulate matter was reported as 83 mg/Nm3 which is within the permissible limits… The industry has also provided multicyclone as stand bye arrangement, which alone is not sufficient to meet emission norms in case of fault in the APCD………. In view of the above, may if approved, CTO under the Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31.03.2029 with suitable conditions and an additional condition that the industry shall take steps to upgrade the stand-bye APCD installed by it so as to achieve the prescribed results in case of fault in the ESP installed by it and submit proposal in this regard within 3 months….Competency-Chairperson, PPCB……………..
