• It is intimated that the marriage palace is a large scale orange category unit.
• The marriage palace was visited by the officer of this office on 20.11.2025 and it was observed as under:-
The marriage palace was not operational during the time of visit.
The marriage palace is now takeover by Mr. Surinder Singh & Mrs. Bhupinder Kaur (Partners) on the name of “M/s Raja the Royal Palace”.
The marriage palace was takeover in the month of July, 2025.
The manager of the marriage palace informed that the capacity of the marriage palace is of 350 persons approximately.
The first function of this season was already held on 14th Nov, 2025 and next function is on 21st Nov, 2025.
The marriage palace has installed 4 no. DG sets of capacity 2*125 KVA, 1*82.5 KVA and 1*25 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
The marriage palace has installed STP but same was found dismantled as the motor was not working and same has gone for repair. The STP seems to be in good condition. Since, the STP was non-operational, so the effluent sample of STP was not collected. The marriage palace has not installed any flow meter on inlet and outlet of the STP.
The marriage palace has 2 no. of kitchens and has not installed hood and stack system in the kitchens. Only exhaust fans are installed in both kitchens.
The marriage palace has not made arrangements for segregation, storage, treatment, and disposal of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) as per the MSW Rules, 2016.
The marriage palace was advised to not use Single Use Plastics in any of their functions.
The representative has failed to show C.A certificate as required during the auto generation of consent at the time of visit.
The marriage palace has failed to comply with the guidelines prescribed by CPCB/PPCB for hotel/marriage palace dated 02.02.2021.
The marriage palace is having valid Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 obtained through auto-renewal from the Board but on the name of “Lally Gardens”.
The representative was informed to take fresh approval on the name of “M/s Raja the Royal Palace”.
The marriage palace was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar on 04.02.2026, wherein it was decided as under:
1. The marriage palace shall apply for consents under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 & authorization under Hazardous & other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 within 10-days.
2. The marriage palace shall comply with the guidelines prescribed by CPCB/PPCB for hotel/marriage palace dated 02.02.2021.
3. The marriage palace shall provide proper composting pits for management of its solid waste generated from the functions.
4. The Regional Office, Jalandhar shall visit the site after 10-days, verify the compliance made by the marriage palace and submit report / process the application on merit.
• Now the marriage palace has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 through OCMMS of the Board and detail are as under:
1. The marriage palace has deposited Rs. 72,000/- vide receipt No. 849883550 dated 06.04.2026 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 63250/- vide UTR no. 488720086 dated 06.04.2026 under Air Act, 1981 which are adequate upto 17.02.2029.
2. The marriage palace has submitted the sale deed, approved building plan cum location plan, undertaking, letter submitted to gram Panchayat regarding picking of solid waste, CA Certificate, compliance report with the application.
• The marriage palace was again visited by Er. Jaspreet Kaur (AEE-OS) on 13.04.2026 and it was observed as under:-
1. The marriage palace was not in operation during the off season.
2. The marriage palace is having capacity of 500 persons for a function.
3. The marriage palace has repaired and installed STP for treatment of its wastewater during function at site and same was not in operation during the no functions is being held due to off season.
4. The marriage palace has installed 4 no. DG sets of capacity 2*125 KVA, 1*82.5 KVA and 1*25 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
5. The marriage palace has started constructing the compost pits within premises and same is yet to be completed.
6. The marriage palace is complying with the provisions under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is a large scale orange category and the competency of case lies with the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal office, Jalandhar.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the marriage palace upto 30.09.2028 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and with special condition that
1. The hotel shall not use of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches / water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocal or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises.
2. The marriage palace shall properly handle, manage and dispose the solid waste generated and comply with the provisions of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 within premises.
3. The marriage palace shall comply with the guidelines prescribed for hotel/marriage palace issued by Board dated 02.02.2021 in future.
4. The marriage palace shall submit the analysis report of the sampling of STP from the recognized lab/from the Board within 03-months.
5. The marriage palace shall apply for authorization under Hazardous & other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 within 10-days.
