Sir,
The industry has submitted an email intimating that it has commissioned its Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system. The same was verified by the undersigned during a site visit conducted on 10.04.2026.
During the visit, it was observed that the industry has installed a new ETP of 2.5 MLD capacity, followed by a five-stage Reverse Osmosis system and a two-stage Concentrated Reverse Osmosis system, along with an MVR-based evaporator. The ZLD system is presently under stabilization phase.
It is further submitted that the water application of the industry is already pending before the competent authority. With the commissioning of the ZLD system, the pollution profile of the industry is expected to change due to the altered mode of effluent disposal. In terms of air pollution, there may be additional load on account of new DG sets. Further, the hazardous waste profile is also likely to change, as salts will be generated and collected from the evaporator.
In view of the above, it is recommended that the industry may be asked to apply for varied consents and HWM authorisation. |
