After perusal the report given by RO, It is submitted that as per the orders of Hon’ble NGT dated 08.02.2022 in the matter of OA no.682/2019 titled as Beant Singh Bajwa, President National Anti-Corruption Council v/s State of Punjab, the PPCB has prepared the action plan with consultation of CPCB & MoEF & CC for the improvement of environment in the area by using Environment compensation amounting @Rs. 5.0 crore by M/s Trident Ltd. (PCD & HTD Division), Trident Complex, Village Dhaula, Tehsil & District Barnala.
Further the Review meeting in this regard was held under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chairman of the Board alongwith the officers of the MoEF&CC, Regional Office, Chandigarh and Central Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, Chandigarh on 28.02.2024.The industry has submitted progress report indicating that an expenditure of ₹2.29 crore has been incurred out of the total ₹5.00 crore up to 05.08.2025.
Subsequently, a review meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Member Secretary of the Board on 05.02.2026 at 11.00 A.M . It was decided that Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Barnala shall physically verify the activities , as mentioned in the Action plan, carried out by M/s Trident Ltd. and SEE zonal office shall schedule the next meeting with all the committee members including CPCB& MoEF & CC immediately after the report of RO.
Accordingly, a separate file has already been proceed for finalizing the schedule of next review meeting to assess the progress ,which is under consideration before the Competent authority
