Sir, it is submitted that in the meeting held on 09.04.2026 under the chairmanship of the Worthy Chairperson of the Board, it was decided that the brown field induction furnace units can install secondary emission containment system as per their choice after obtaining its design from agency / company. However, the unit is bound to submit completion certificate from PSCST.
In compliance, the industry has submitted the feasibility report (attached herewith) issued by M/s Sohanpal Mechanical Works for installation of APCD to control the secondary emissions generated and has also deposited Rs. 1.0 lac as advance of the value of the system in compliance to the Board's office order dated 08.10.2025. A copy of cheque issued to M/s Sohanpal Mechanical Works is attached herewith.
Further, in the said meeting, the matter regarding short terms consent granted to the industry was also brought to the knowledge of the Worthy Chairperson, as the representative of the industries informed that they are being forced to apply again & again for obtaining renewal of CTO’s due to very short-term consents being granted by the Board. Accordingly, the Chair has directed the officers of the Board to resolve this issue on priority basis.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the provisions of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed upto 30.09.2028 (upto adequacy of consent fee) subject to the suitable conditions and additional condition that the industry shall install APCD to control secondary emissions generated before 30.09.2026 in compliance to the Board's office order dated 08.10.2025, please. |
