File Note: The HCF is a 19 bedded hospital and same was granted authorization vide no. BMW/Fresh/BTI/2025/28750588 dated 05.06.2025 for bed capacity of 19 beds for generation, collection & storage under the Bio-Medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2016, which is valid upto 31.05.2026. Now the HCF has applied for fresh consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 and Water Act, 1974, for bed capacity of 19 beds. The HCF has deposited consent fee of Rs. 1000/- videT.No. 682530038 dt 14.05.2026 under the Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 1000 /- videT.No. 741809409 dt 14.05.2026 Air Act against against the bed capacity of 19 which makes adequacy upto 31.03.2027. The HCF has submitted approved Building Permit/Sanction dated 31.01.2024 digitally signed by Commissioner, MCB. The hospital has submitted copy of an agreement with common facility of Med-Waste Solutions Pvt. Ltd Village Bidowali, Tehsil. Gidderbaha, authorized by the Board for bed capacity of 19 beds, wherein MEM has under taken the liability of collection, transportation and treatment/disposal of Bio-Medical Waste generating from the hospital. The agreement is valid upto 31.05.2028. The HCF was visited officer of this office on 15.05.2026 and it was observed as following- 1. The hospital is having 19 Bedded hospital. 2. The HCF has installed colour coded bins with colour coded bags at every biomedical waste generation points. 3. The hospital is cutting catheters/tubing to avoid its reuse. 4. The hospital has provided shredders/ cutters for shredding of used needles and same were found in working condition. 5. Non-Polychlorinated bags, were used at all Bio Medical waste generation points & bar code stickers are pasted on these bags before lifting them off to the CBMWTF. 6. The hospital has stored glass (broken / unbroken) in a cardboard box with blue colour marking on it. 7. The hospital has provided Final storage room for storage of bio medical waste, which is safe, pucca and with lock & key arrangement systems. 8. The hospital has maintained the record of Bio-Medical Waste Category wise in Annotated form, being lifted by the CBMWTF. 9. The hospital is not mixing its BMW with the municipal solid waste. 10. The HCF has made arrangement for the pretreatment of liquid waste at OT, Lab etc. with hypochlorite solution. 11. The HCF is complying with the provisions of the Bio-Medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2016 as well as the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. In view of above, It is recommended that fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the HCF for the bed capacity of 19 no. for a period upto 31.03.2027 with suitable conditions.
